THE GlastonBeoley Music Festival was hailed a roaring success as crowds flocked to Redditch Rugby, Cricket and Hockey Club.
With 38 bands performing, there was something for everyone and Friday night saw six outfits playing ‘on the field’ and seven in the clubhouse.
Tuesday! got the festival under way at 5pm and as the evening progressed The Mighty Boing had everyone up and dancing with their ska infused rock.
And plaudits to the British Sign Language expert who danced her heart on stage while simultaneously doing BSL.
This paved the way for Friday night headline band Vaseline to take to the stage to top a great evening out.
Meanwhile in the clubhouse Daniel Mitchell had got the evening under way and by the time Sofa took to the stage – featuring renowned Redditch musician Clem Dalloway and his son Connor – the building was rocking.
Their set of Blues and Rock set feet tapping and air guitars going and were followed by hot duo Dos Villanos with Pale Riders closing the live evening before a DJ took to the decks.
The festival continued on Saturday with 23 bands performing.
There were mini fair rides, pony rides, pygmy goats and more, as well as food and drink stalls.
Organiser Debbie Joynes said: “The new venue worked really well – it is probably our busiest year to date.
“The atmosphere was amazing and everyone looked to be having a great time.”
They total raised is yet to be finalised but organisers are expecting a substantial amount.
Debbie added: “It truly was a joy to experience and I want to thank everyone who turned out.”
