A GIRLS’ football club has kicked off the season with new kits, thanks to Bluebird Care Bromsgrove and Redditch.
The Kingfisher Belles under 12s squad is now sponsored by the company and the girls have all benefited from brand new shirts complete with the Bluebird logo to mark the partnership, which will last for the next two years.
The Lionesses reaching the final of the Women’s World Cup inspired the home care team to want to get the ball rolling by providing their own support for girls grassroots football.
So, with the summer of football fever fresh in their minds, they approached the all-female Kingfisher FC.
Rebecca Ankcorn, coach for the Kingfisher Belles under 12s, said: “This will be the team’s first official season playing competitively, and we are thrilled that the Kingfisher Belles made their competitive debut looking so smart.
“The team has really come together to support and challenge one another to achieve their best over the past season, going as far as to reach the Mercian plate cup finals.
“Now, we are excited to see how the girls’ professional new kit will build on their sense of unity as they seek to emulate the Lionesses’ sportsmanship and successful streak.”
Ranjot Khatra, director of Bluebird Care Bromsgrove and Redditch, said: “Our local community is the beating heart of what we do, and so it is important to us that we do what we can to contribute to the strength of that community.
“We are thrilled to contribute to the momentum of girls in grassroots football by sponsoring Kingfisher Belles Under 12s.
“We wish the girls the best of luck for the rest of the season and can’t wait to follow their progress.”
