THREE young people were presented with certificates for the work experience they took part in at the Local History Museum in Redditch town centre.

The placements, which ran from January to September this year, came about as part of a link-up between the museum and HoW College.

The students helped with administration, IT and technical support, videos and an archive being put together, along with planning activities.

Aimmy Adagu. a former trustee of the Redditch Local History Museum who co-ordinated the placements, said: “It was great for both the young people as they learnt so many new skills and got the experience in a working environment and for the community and museum which got tasks done that needed doing.”

The placements were covered by the museum’s Arts Council funding.

Aimmy added: “The parents gave us plenty of good feedback and said they were very grateful as some were struggling to get placements for their children.”
