PEOPLE of Redditch are encouraged to support their local shops this small business Saturday, writes Caitlin Valle.
Small business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday in December each year and is a day to highlight small businesses and encourage shopping local.
The Redditch economy is powered by independent businesses, which create jobs for local people.
Most recent data from the House of Commons Library found there were 3920 VAT or PAYE enterprises in Redditch in 2022.
MP for Redditch Rachel Maclean is urging residents to shop with local business.
Mrs Maclean said: “Small and independent businesses are the backbone of our economy, so I would urge residents to support them this Small Business Saturday.
“Ever since I’ve been the local MP, I’ve been supporting our businesses, not just through my #SupportLocal campaign, but by ensuring Government creates the conditions businesses need to grow and create jobs.”
