ALTHOUGH a lot of people will be off work over Christmas, some will still be working and many will still be relying on public transport to visit friends and family, go on nights out or for other essential travel.
Here is a round up of the changes to bus services over the festive period in Redditch:
Christmas Day
There will be no Diamond Bus services on Christmas Day (December 25).
In the lead up to Christmas and Christmas Eve
Services will be running normally until December 23, however Christmas Eve will see a service level more akin to a typical Sunday for all service operators.
On Christmas Eve the following services will finish earlier than normal – 11, 51, 52A, 57, 58.
- The 11’s final bus from Redditch departs at 5.45pm. It’s final bus from the Alexandra Hospital departs at 6.15pm.
- The last 51 service departs Redditch at 6pm.
- The 52’s last bus departs the Alex at 5.40pm and departs Redditch at 5.15pm.
- The last 57 service departs Redditch at 6.15pm.
- The final 58 bus departs Redditch at 6pm.
Boxing Day
Diamond Buses will only operate the following bus routes on Boxing Day – 11, 51, 57, 58.
The first 11 services from Redditch to the Alexandra Hospital will embark from Redditch at 8.45am and the Alex at 9.15am.
The services will run hourly until the last bus from Redditch at 5.45pm and 5.15pm from the hospital.
The first 51 service from Redditch to Batchley will leave at 8.50am before running every 30 minutes until the last bus at 5.50pm.
The first 57 service from Redditch to Matchborough will leave at 8.30am before running every 30 minutes until the last bus at 5.30.
And finally, the 58 service from Redditch to Matchborough will leave at 8.45 before running every 30 minutes until the last service at 5.15pm.
No other Worcestershire services operated by Diamond Buses will run on this day.
December 27 to December 30
Diamond Buses’ 182 and 183 services from Redditch to Bromsgrove which will operate on Monday to Friday timetables.
All other services will operate on Saturday timetables between December 27 and December 30.
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Normal Sunday Services will operate for Diamond Buses.
January 2
Diamond Buses will resume normal weekday services.
