A REDDITCH businesswoman is looking forward to a successful 2024, after being crowned Start-Up of the Year.
Smile Box, launched in 2022, provides ‘care boxes’ containing a variety of sustainably-sourced treats.
Donna Fisher, who launched the start-up, believes a Smile Box is a way for employers to show staff they care about their health and wellbeing.
After experiencing concerns about the potential costs of launching a new business, Donna sought advice from the business support team at Worcestershire County Council which led her to apply for Enterprising Worcestershire’s Start-up Grant.
The grant covered the costs for professional photography and provided funding for marketing brochures, web design and a prototype.
Since launching, Smile Box has gone from strength to strength and was a finalist in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce awards.
Donna said: ‘’We are delighted with the success of our mission-based business and the expansion of our core team during 2023.
“We have worked with some amazing corporate clients who are all working really hard to improve and maintain good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
“In the last 12 months we have continued to support several local businesses and have continued to work with the NHS both within the Worcestershire area but also further afield.
“For 2024, we will be endorsing our commitment to the environment and sustainability with our tree planting initiative.
“We hope to collaborate with some local schools later in the year to create a real sense of community for the town in which we operate. Watch this space.”
