AN ALCESTER retirement village has hosted a health and wellness event, empowering residents.
Great Alne Park held free Health MOTs and Wellness Talks led by Zeno Health Group for residents and guests which included a talk on prostate health.
The session, led by Samantha Gaunt, a health expert at Zeno, covered the signs and symptoms, screening processes, lifestyle behaviours to support ‘active surveillance,’ and general wellbeing advice designed to educate and empower men to make informed decisions.
Jamie Bunce, CEO of company Inspired Villages, which runs the home, said: “The Health MOTs on offer at the roadshows visiting all our villages keep track of changes in blood pressure and other factors.
“We believe disease prevention can be supported by self-care interventions such as the Health MOTs and we’re delighted to make it even more convenient by bringing it to our villages.
“With March being Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, we are also making this a focus with an insightful discussion and information sharing talk.”
