Redditch uniform bank getting ready for donations

Redditch Editorial 15th Jun, 2024   0

LEADER of Redditch Borough Council, Coun Joe Baker and deputy Coun Sharon Harvey, are appealing for donations for their ever-popular school uniform bank event.

The event will be held in the Kingfisher Centre on August 3, with thousands of items of donated uniform available to take away.

The donation points are guest services at Kingfisher Centre and Inspire at The Barn Winyates.

They accept any branded and non-branded items of school clothing, as well as PE kits, coats, shoes and trainers.

Please ensure all donations are in a clean and suitable condition.

Joint organiser Coun Harvey said: “Each year local volunteers sort out thousands of donated items ready to pass them on to new families.

“This service is free of charge and relies on generous donations from the community.

“This is a fantastic way for parents to save money, as well as an opportunity to save items from landfill.”

Kingfisher Redditch’s general manager, Adrian Field, added: “We have been delighted to host this event over the years and it certainly helps our own green credentials by ensuring that good quality clothes can be reused and support our fantastic local community.”
