YEAR SIX pupils and teachers at Mappleborough Green Primary School are celebrating a phenomenal set of SATS results.
Data published by the Department for Education revealed 100 per cent of this year’s cohort reached the expected national standard in reading, writing and maths (combined score).
This compares to the national figure of 61 per cent and puts the Church of England school in the top one per cent of primary schools in the UK for academic achievement.
The stage two National Curriculum assessments were taken in May, with six papers testing children’s English and maths abilities.
Headteacher Alexander Finch said: “The Year Six children and staff worked incredibly hard to achieve this tremendous set of results.
“I am immeasurably proud of their perseverance and application especially as their primary education was seriously disrupted by the Covid school closures.”
This year’s results are up from the incredible 94 per cent achieved in 2023.
Nationally, 74 per cent of 11-year-olds met expected standards in reading, 73 per cent in maths and 72 per cent in grammar, punctuation and spelling.
