LIKE-minded women can get support and make new friends as Redditch Borough Council launches a series of Menopause Meet-Ups.
These new informal groups where experiences and coping strategies can be shared are open to women of all ages and are run by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis.
The first get-together will be held on next Monday (August 5) at 12.30pm, at the Boathouse in Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.
There will be further sessions on September 2, October 7, November 4 and December 9.
Redditch Borough Council’s Portfolio-holder for Leisure Coun Juliet Barker-Smith said: “Rather than going through a life event alone, which can be very daunting, these meet-ups offer a chance to share experiences with people who are going through exactly the same thing.
“Swapping stories and advice, alongside a cuppa and a laugh or two, can make a stressful time more manageable.”
From August 21, sessions will also be run at the Sandycroft Centre each week at 6pm.
Council Leader Joe Baker added: “We are proud to lead on this initiative which supports the health and well-being of our residents.”
