A REDDITCH nursery held a family fun day on Sunday to raise cash for a new astroturf in its garden area.
Rhymes Nursery is one of the longest standing nurseries in the borough and welcomed 35 families to a fun-filled afternoon which included candy floss, popcorn, face painting and other traditional carnival activities such as hook-a-duck and a tombola.
This extravagant event managed to raise a staggering £550 towards the £10,000 astroturf.
They would like to give a special thank you to Bransons Cross Truck Park and Cafe, and It’s the Little Thing party hire, who supported the event.
Nursery manager Kate Martin said: “Myself and the team had so much fun bringing to life our Rhymes Carnival and it was great to see so many of our children and their families attending and supporting our event.
“At Rhymes we believe children learn through play and we’re really proud of the outdoor spaces we have, which allows them to move around in the fresh air whilst exploring and learning.
“However, over the years, the current astroturf has become tired.
“We want to replace it to ensure it will last for many more years to come.
“Most of the team has worked at the nursery for over a decade and we have a number of colleagues who have even been here from the beginning, and we all love coming together to make the nursery the best it can be both inside and outside.”
