FAVOURITE music CDs, loom band bracelets and letters to their future selves were among the items unearthed by former Dunnington Primary School pupils when they returned to dig up a time capsule.
The year six class of 2014 buried the object shortly before leaving in 2014 intending to come back a decade later to retrieve it.
In July, nine former pupils reunited at the school and realised that it was exactly a decade ago they originally buried it.
Charley Bromley from Evesham said: “We’d always planned to meet up a decade later but were really surprised to find when we got to school it was exactly 10 years ago to the date.”
The 21-year-old, who has just graduated as a teacher, said the uncovering provided much amusement from items, such as photos of their younger selves and a video showing each child recalling their favourite school memories.
“It was really nostalgic to look back and remember what was popular in 2014 like loom bands.”
She added his former classmates reading their letters to themselves aloud was surprising.
“Some were quite far-fetched. It was exciting and there was a lot of laughter.”
There are plans to repeat the endeavour with next year’s school leavers.
