Redditch youngster asks for foodbank donations for 13th birthday

Redditch Editorial 27th Sep, 2024   0

A CARING Redditch youngster has foregone birthday presents to increase donations for his foodbank.

Isaac Winfield started Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank in November 2020 as a pop-up greenhouse on his driveway with the hope that it would help people struggling over Christmas.

Since then, the charity has grown and now has sheds across five locations dedicated to helping combat food insecurity in the borough.

The foodbank also has a team of 15 volunteers who help with the running of day-to-day activities while Isaac attends school.

For his 13th birthday, Isaac has decided, instead of presents, he wants donations to his foodbank, aiming to fill his van.

His mum, Claire-Louise Chapman, said: “For nearly four years, Isaac has worked tirelessly to help those in need and now he’s asking for your help to celebrate his 13th birthday in the most meaningful way.

“We’re calling on everyone in the Redditch community to get involved and support his incredible mission.”

People can drop off food donations at Greenlands Pub, The Oast House, ASDA Redditch.
