Redditch United's Valley Stadium transformed for episode of hit BBC murder mystery series

REDDITCH United FC’s Valley Stadium will star on the small screen after it was chosen as a setting for an episode of a hit BBC murder mystery series.

The club’s home ground was transformed into Goneril Stadium, home to ‘Avon Football Club’, for the episode of Stratford-based Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators.

Filming has started on series five of the popular drama.

Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators series four was the second biggest BBC daytime series in 2022 with an average audience of 2.3million.

It features Jo Joyner, Mark Benton and Patrick Walshe McBride as the lead stars who spent a week filming at Redditch United.

The new series will be aired next year when people will be able to find out ‘whodunit’ and see the Valley Stadium transformed into an exceptional set for a thrilling storyline.




The programme has also previously been filmed at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum and other venues around the Midlands.
