A HALLOWEEN scarecrow trail in Astwood Bank has seen residents, businesses and community groups join together to create one spooktacular display of creativity and scariness.
Organised by Astwood Bank Community Group the number of entries has exceeded all expectations with 90 frightful displays decorating virtually every street and lane in the village.
Entries this year include an Addams’ Family tableau, a pet cemetery, various witches, and a number of evil-looking pumpkin people. The Grim Reaper and several skeletons also make an appearance.
Organiser Ashley Hewitt said: “We’re thrilled with the incredible response to Astwood Bank’s first Scarecrow Trail, with over 90 entries popping up around the community.
“It’s been wonderful to see so many people from the community join in the spirit of creativity and fun. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all participants for making our inaugural year such a fantastic success.
“We’re already looking forward to seeing how this new tradition will grow in the years to come!”
Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite, with prizes available for the best residential and best business scarecrows up for grabs.
The displays will be on show around the village until tomorrow, November 1. Go there if you dare…
