SHIHAN Dave Treadwell and student Cleo McFarlane both came away with medals at the WKU World Championships in Rhodes, Greece.
Shihan Treadwell teaches weekly in Redditch at Furi Sutairu Karate Federation with McFarlane one of his students.
He qualified for five different finals while McFarlane also made her way through to a final.
And both Treadwell and McFarlane secured podium finishes in Greece.
Treadwell won world titles in kumite and kumite sparring and also placed second in creative kata, hard style kata and Japanese kata.
McFarlane won an impressive bronze in weapon kata.
The event took place over five days with more than 2,100 competitors from over 35 countries.
