SINCE being elected as Mayor I have had the pleasure of meeting the most wonderful groups, organisations and people who are integral to creating the community spirit which Redditch is renowned for.
As well as fundraising for my own charity the Disability Support Project, I have also attended some very poignant events not least the White Ribbon campaign for the end to violence against women and children and intend to be at the Holocaust Memorial Service in the New Year.
Recently I have had the pleasure to attend some of the borough-wide Christmas and holiday celebrations which brought families, friends, communities and cultures together.
But we also need to spare a thought for those who, for whatever the reason, will not be spending time with loved ones this Christmas. I hope we can all take a moment to spread some goodwill and spend time with friends and neighbours who find this time of year difficult.
Whatever you are doing, wherever you are I would like to wish you all a merry and safe Christmas and a healthy and happy 2025!
