TRAINS are finally set to return on the Cross City Line between Birmingham New Street and Bromsgrove and Redditch this morning (Wednesday).
There have been no services on the line south of the Second City since trees and branches fell near Longbridge on Saturday, caused by Storm Darragh’s heavy rain and high winds.
The line has been blocked since Saturday afternoon and rail replacement buses have been running on the route, which also serves Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Longbridge and Northfield.
But, West Midlands Railway confirmed late last night, that trains are scheduled to start again from 6am this morning.
