Donations come in for Friends of Isaac's Foodbank in time for Christmas

A PET food company has organised a collection for Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank, for those struggling at Christmas.

The scheme, led by Hannah Russell, supply chain planner at Fish4Pets took place throughout November at the companies head office in the town.

The collection aims to support families in need during the festive season, a time when many struggle to make ends meet.

Lee Birt, assistant warehouse manager at Fish4Pets, was joined by his nine-month-old Cavapoo and Springer puppy cross, and team leaders Pete Shaw and Kristina Pall to hand over the donation to Isaac Winfield, the young founder of Friends of Isaac Food Bank.

Isaac, now 13 years old, began the charity at the age of nine, starting with a pop-up greenhouse on his driveway in 2020.

Since then, the initiative has expanded significantly, operating five sheds around Redditch and helping approximately 160 families every week.

Friends of Isaac Food Bank is run with the help of 15 dedicated volunteers who manage daily operations while Isaac balances his charitable work with school. Fish4Pets further supports the food bank by providing free storage space for their container on the company’s premises.

Hannah said: “We are proud to support the incredible work of Friends of Isaac Food Bank.

“The dedication Isaac and his team have shown to helping the community is truly inspiring, and we hope our donation will make a difference for families in need during the holiday season.”

The community is encouraged to continue supporting Friends of Isaac Food Bank.

Food donations can be dropped off at Greenlands Pub, The Oast House, ASDA Redditch and One Beyond, at Trafford Retail Park.
