'Thank you to all the voluntary groups' - Christmas message from the chair of Studley Parish Council

Redditch Editorial 21st Dec, 2024   0

It has been a lively year for Studley Parish Council with no two days the same – here is a snapshot of our achievements.

It had been the first year in control of our village hall, and after a few initial issues we are now on the right track together with the new facilities manager.

A grant was obtained to install solar panels to the hall roof with battery back-up to reduce energy costs and these are working well.

The brilliant Christmas Fair and lights switch-on where the village hall was used to its full potential.

The ATC building has been leased out for five years.

The cemetery is being well maintained, the grass is always tidy, paths have been repaired and the larger trees topped out.

The nature reserve committee continues to do a wonderful job often under some extreme weather conditions.

Improvements to the allotments have been scheduled for next year.

The community engagement committee has been active and installed new notice boards and a new bus shelter in Station Road.

Work on improving the recreation park is ongoing.

Sadly, negotiations with Warwickshire County Council for the old youth centre have come to an end and we will not be pursuing purchase.

Finally, a huge thank you must go to all the voluntary groups within the village who contribute to making Studley a brighter and better place to live.

On behalf of Studley Parish Council  I would like to wish all Studley residents a very Merry Christmas and healthy new year.

Councillor Mike Osborne

Chair of Studley Parish Council
