REVEALED - Plans submitted for a new bowling alley in Redditch

AN APPLICATION has been submitted by Tenpin for a new bowling alley in Redditch.

The application, lodged with Worcestershire Regulatory Services, will see not just a bowling alley built but a space for sporting events and live music.

The venue would be built in the old B&M store in the Kingfisher Centre.

The company behind the application has been listed as ‘Redditch Tenpin’.

Tenpin has venues across the UK, including Worcester, Coventry and Leamington Spa.

As part of the licence application, Redditch Tenpin has requested permission for ‘indoor sporting events’, the ‘exhibition of films’, the ‘performance of live music’, the ‘playing of recorded music’ up until 1am on a Friday and a Saturday and until midnight Sunday to Thursday.

It has also requested to serve ‘late night refreshment’ up to 1.30am Friday and Saturday and to midnight until Sunday to Thursday.

The town has not had a bowling alley for nearly 20 years since Megabowl closed down.

A bowling alley could potentially be a hit with residents as hopes for one returning to the town were raised when Wilko closed in the Kingfisher Centre and when Wetherspoons shut The Rising Son.
