Studley Stitchers unveil their latest postbox topper

THE STUDLEY Stitchers have been back knitting up a storm with their newest postbox topper.

It features Zoe Thompson, an Armed Forces Veteran who lives in village, who is competing in curling, swimming, supervising swimming and the skeleton at the Invictus Games.

Diane Dutton from the group said: “The Studley Stitchers wish our very own superstar the very best of luck in the games.

“The funny thing is, her husband approached us to do a topper when we were already doing it.”

The small group of largely anonymous knitters has evolved over the year from one decorated box to several.

Residents old and young are visiting the pillar boxes to take photos to share with families and friends.

The yarn bombing started when a member of the group saw something similar on holiday and thought it would brighten up the village.

Since the first Easter topper was displayed, the group has grown to 15 knitters and crocheters.

They aim to continue their work in the village and have a few surprises for the year ahead.
