REDDITCH MP Chris Bloore, has praised the ‘extra special’ Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre after visiting the charity.
During his visit, he met with CEO David Burrell, staff, volunteers, patients, and service users to witness first-hand the compassionate and dignified care Primrose provides to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Mr Bloore said: “I was truly privileged to visit Primrose Hospice and see the extraordinary care it provides to our community.
“Over half of the 1,200 people they support each year live in Redditch and the villages, highlighting just how vital their work is for our constituency.
“The dedication and kindness of the staff and volunteers create a warm and welcoming environment where people facing immense challenges can find comfort and support.”
Primrose Hospice offers much more than end-of-life care, with services including bereavement support, benefits advice, complementary therapy, and a dedicated children’s service.
Mr Bloore was particularly struck by the holistic approach of the hospice, ensuring that families, friends, and carers also receive the support they need.
He said: “What makes Primrose truly special is its unwavering commitment to supporting the whole family, not just the person facing illness.
“Their services are a lifeline to so many, and we must do everything we can to ensure they continue to receive the funding and resources they need to thrive.”
Primrose Hospice operates with a team of 52 staff and more than 370 volunteers, providing free-of-charge services to anyone in need.
“The visit comes as hospices across England receive a much-needed funding boost, with the Primrose Hospice set to receive £29,035 to support its ongoing work.
Mr Bloore urged residents to support the hospice in any way they can.
“We are immensely fortunate to have Primrose as part of our community,” he added.
“Please do support them if you can, whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word. Every contribution makes a difference.”
