Redditch MP Chris Bloore hosts successful walking surgery in Wychbold

REDDITCH MP Chris Bloore, joined Wychavon District Councillor Rick Deller and Worcestershire County Councillor Tony Miller for a walking surgery in Wychbold, giving residents the chance to raise concerns directly with their elected representatives.

The walkabout, originally planned for two hours, extended well beyond that as residents took the opportunity to discuss key local issues.

Topics raised included speeding, parking on pavements, dangerous road junctions, inadequate road signage and fly-tipping.

Mr Bloore said: “Engaging with residents face-to-face is one of the most valuable parts of my role.

“Walking surgeries like this allow us to see first-hand the issues affecting our communities and work together to find solutions.

“Road safety, pavement parking, and fly-tipping are concerns I hear across the constituency and I am committed to working with local authorities to push for meaningful action.

“Listening to residents in Wychbold was invaluable – people want to see real action on road safety and environmental concerns and I look forward to continuing to work to deliver improvements.”

He also highlighted the importance of local, district and Parliamentary representatives working together to make a difference.

Coun Deller added: “It was great to be out on the doorstep in a cross-party basis, working together to deliver for residents, having the opportunity to discuss real issues affecting them, looking forward to taking those on.”

Following the walking surgery, Mr Bloore and the councillors are taking forward specific concerns, including exploring traffic-calming measures to tackle speeding, reviewing parking regulations and enforcement options for pavement parking and strengthening efforts to combat fly-tipping.
