REDDITCH Borough Council has confirmed some of the traders who will have stalls at the new-look outdoor market ahead of its official launch at 11am on Saturday, March 29.
There will be a variety of stalls selling their wares on Church Green where the markets will take place every Saturday and Thursday.
Among those stalls will be Happy Fruit and Veg, cookie dough pies and chocolate seller ‘ay We – doughaywe.com – Country Garden Pies which offers fruit pies, meat pies and pork pies, Shels Knitz and Crafty Bitz – click here for her page – and much more.
The launch by Redditch Mayor, Coun Juma Begum, will take place near the John Bonham statue on Church Green at 11am where there will be street performers, live music and a big warm welcome.
Portfolio Holder for regeneration and leader of the Council, Coun Joe Baker, said he could not wait for the outdoor market to return after its four-year absence.
“We promised the return of our much-loved market and we have delivered. There’s been great progress in a short space of time.
“We’ve got the stalls in. We’ve got the infrastructure in. And we’ve recruited some brand-new traders ready for the launch, with more sure to follow as shoppers rediscover the market and it takes root and grows back again.
“With the support of the community firmly behind it, we can now ensure that over time our mix of market stalls develops to improve the shopping experience and encourage more people into the town centre, whether from across Redditch or from further afield.”
