A house fire broke out this evening at a detached property on Lower Grinsty Lane, situated behind Redditch Golf Club.
Billowing black smoke could be seen across the region.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at about 5.40pm after flames were spotted coming from the roof of the striking white home in the quiet cul-de-sac.
Fortunately, the owners of the house were outside the property and confirmed to be safe.

Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the blaze, which was brought under control within a short time of their arrival. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, although some neighbours speculated it could have started due to a charger. This remains unverified.
One long-time resident, who has lived in the area for 45 years, told the Redditch Standard:
“The fire brigade arrived quickly and managed to get things under control. I’ve lived here in this cul-de-sac for 45 years and nothing like this has ever happened before. It was quite scary at one stage when the flames were shooting from the roof there.”
In a heartwarming gesture, two members of Redditch Golf Club came out to offer teas, coffees and refreshments to the firefighters tackling the blaze.
No injuries have been reported, and fire investigators are expected to return to the property to determine the exact cause in the coming days.
Residents are reminded to check home electricals and ensure devices are not left charging unattended.
More updates to follow as details emerge.
