THE LEADER of Redditch Borough Council has resigned from his role as leader and has been suspended from the Labour Party with immediate effect.
Coun Joe Baker has been leader of the council since the all out elections last year.
A spokesperson for the council has confirmed deputy leader, Coun Sharon Harvey will be taking over as interim leader until the annual council in May.
Coun Baker is still a councillor for Batchley and Brockhill ward as an Independent.
