TWO EMPLOYEES from The Project in Rednal will take on the Birmingham Half Marathon today (Sunday, May 4).
Mel Jaunzems and Lottie Robinson, who both live in Bromsgrove, are hoping to raise funds for the charity which provides advice and services across Birmingham.
The organisation, which was started in Rednal 35 years ago and has been based their ever since, assists with issues, such as welfare benefits, homelessness and debt and it also connects people to services in their areas to improve wellbeing.
The Project also works with Redditch Foodbank via Acts of Kindness, offering financial inclusion advice to those in need.
The funds raised from Mel and Lottie’s run will enable The Project to help people quickly in crisis at a time when it has never been more needed.
The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run is the Midlands’ biggest running event which starts and finishes in the heart of the city.
Mel has undertaken the run a couple of times before for the charity whereas this is the first time for Lottie who only recently joined The Project.
The pair said they were both dedicated to The Project, and hoped to raise as much as they could so to help as many people as possible with the daily challenges they face, especially in the cost-of-living crisis.
