A REDDITCH school is celebrating the opening of their new library after a full refurb.
Coun Monica Stringfellow and Sachin Mathur, for Batchley and Brockhill, officially opened Batchley First School’s new library last Wednesday with staff and pupils in attendance.
Headteacher Sarah Downes said the school wanted to give children a calm inspiring space where they could enjoy stories.
“There is something truly magical about being drawn to a book on the shelf, holding it in your hands, turning its pages and becoming so caught up in its world that you simply don’t want to stop reading.
“That’s the kind of joy we want our children to experience every single day.”
Coun Mathur said: ““It was a real privilege to officially open the library.
“The hard work of staff, governors and the wider school community has created something truly special.
“This refurbishment is more than a room – it’s a gateway to learning, opportunity and a lifelong love of stories.
“Every child deserves to see themselves reflected in stories and this investment ensures Batchley pupils have that opportunity.
“I’m confident this space will inspire generations of young readers for years to come.”
