RESIDENTS at a Redditch care home have found a fairway to recycle goods, by making a mini golf course out of household items.
Led by Mark Sargent, Bowood Court’s ever-handy maintenance man and now honorary course designer, the project was driven by the ideas and creativity of the residents themselves.
From old plant pots to cardboard tubes, garden tools, coat hangers, and even a repurposed walking frame or two – every hole has a story and a sustainable twist.
Mark said: “It’s been brilliant seeing everyone get stuck in, the residents had the vision – I just helped bring it to life.
“I’ve never built a golf course before, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
The whole Bowood community joined the fun – residents painted signs and obstacles, the activities team hosted mini-tournaments, and families cheered on from the sidelines.
The garden golf course is now a temporary feature at Bowood Court.
