Redditch foodbank founder Isaac honoured with special visit to parliament

REDDITCH foodbank founder Isaac Winfield has been taken on a tour of Parliament by the town’s MP.

Isaac, who set up Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank in 2020, was invited by Chris Bloore to the Houses of Parliament for a special day of recognition in honour of his outstanding work supporting families across Redditch.

Mr Bloore surprised Isaac by arranging a private meeting with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle.

The visit included a tour of the historic Palace of Westminster and provided an opportunity to shine a light on Isaac’s remarkable efforts in tackling food insecurity

The foodbank has become a lifeline for countless local residents, offering essential food and support to those in need and fostering a true spirit of solidarity in the community.

Mr Bloore said: “Isaac is a real hero in our community.

“He’s shown incredible dedication and compassion, ensuring that no one in Redditch faces hardship alone.

“It was a privilege to invite him to Parliament to celebrate all he has achieved – and to thank him personally on behalf of everyone in our town.

“Seeing Isaac meet the Speaker was a wonderful moment and I hope it’s a day he will always remember.”

The Speaker’s office praised Isaac’s community work and said it was delighted to welcome such a dedicated young volunteer to Parliament.

Isaac’s mum, Claire Chapman said: “Isaac has had the most amazing day at Parliament.

“It will be a memory treasured for a very long time. “
