Redditch Lions donate over £3,000 to Air Cadets for new equipment

REDDITCH Lions has donated more than £3,200 to the 216 Squadron Air Cadets to purchase laptops to help support young people gain valuable education and experience.

The laptops are essential for the training and advancement of the Air Cadets, many of whom come from diverse backgrounds.

Flt Lt Emma Golbourn, commanding officer of the Redditch-based 216 Squadron Air Cadets, approached the Lions to ask if the club would help.

Since she took command, the squadron’s attendance has increased significantly, from seven cadets to consistently between 30 and 40.

President of Redditch Lions, Jeff Jennings, said: “We were pleased to have donated £3,209 to the 216 Squadron Air Cadets.

“This support helps local young people gain valuable education and experience, providing them with structure and goals they might not otherwise have access to.”
