RESIDENTS in Redditch are being urged to be on their guard after reports of rogue traders operating in the area.
It comes as three men approached a lady who lives in Matchborough, claiming to work for Redditch Borough Council.
They said they had come to repair a roof and demanded cash up front for the work.
Police want people to be aware this is not something council workers would do.
Officers are urging people who encounter situations like this to cose the door and call police, using the 999 number.
Council workers would only call on houses for a pre-arranged appointment and would have ID confirming they work for the Borough council.
