REDDITCH MP Chris Bloore visited Woodrow Girl Guides and Rangers this week, hearing directly from young people about the challenges facing girls and young women today.
The session, held at Woodrow First School, brought together Guides aged between 10 to 14 and Rangers aged between 14 to 18 for a lively evening of discussion, questions and ideas.
Several of the girls expressed a strong interest in politics and were eager to share their views with their local MP.
Girlguiding has been active in Redditch for decades, supporting hundreds of young members each year with opportunities to grow in confidence, build friendships and develop leadership skills.
Volunteers are at the heart of this work, making weekly sessions possible.
Speaking after the visit, Chris Bloore MP said: “It was fantastic to spend the evening with Woodrow Guides and Rangers, listening to their ideas and hearing directly about the issues that matter to them.
“Girlguiding plays an incredible role in giving young people the skills, confidence and experiences that will stay with them for life.
“I want to thank the dedicated volunteers who make this possible week after week. Their passion and commitment ensure that every girl, whatever her background, knows that she can achieve anything.”
