A CARE home in Alcester is celebrating after staff member Donna Johnston was awarded Learner of the Year at the Barchester Care Awards.
The awards ceremony took place on October 23, where Gareth Williams, director of learning and development and Pete Calveley Barchesters chief executive presented Donna with the award.
Donna, who began her Advanced Care Practitioner course in September 2023, has been a member of the Cherry Trees team for 14 years.
Starting as a Healthcare Assistant, her dedication and hard work led her through various roles, including Senior Carer and Team Leader, before taking on her current role as Advanced Care Practitioner.
She said: “I’m grateful for Barchester’s training and Debbie Osborne’s unwavering support.
“Winning this award is a true honour and I’d like to say a big thank you to all the residents, relatives and staff members for all their love and support.”
General Manager Debbie Osborne added: “Donna’s commitment to Cherry Trees and her residents is unmatched. We’re excited to support her journey to becoming a Registered Nurse.”
