PEOPLE or families struggling this Christmas can get a hot Christmas Eve meal at an event being put on by Redditch Labour Party and volunteers.
Former leader Joe Baker set up the annual event 14 years ago and each year it has become busier and busier, with more than 250 people turning up last year.
Coun Bill Hartnett is once again helping out this year.
He said: It’s always a great time where we all get together, roll our sleeves up and start cooking.
“It’s also helps break down that feeling of loneliness knowing that someone is out there that cares.”
The event will be held at the St Andrews Church, Church Hill, from 1pm, or meals can be delivered to those who need them from 12.30pm
