IT IS ‘the end’ for another store in Redditch’s Kingfisher Centre.
The Television and Movie Store, which has been operating at the centre for nearly two years is holding a closing down sale.
This is the latest of several retailers that have left the centre, most recently Claire’s Accessories.
Rising rents has been suggested as the reason behind the closure.
Shoppers and residents have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with one commenter saying they will no longer be visiting.
In response, a spokesperson for the Kingfisher Shopping Centre said: “The Television and Movie Store was always intended to be a temporary pop-up and actually stayed longer than originally planned.
“They operated on very competitive, low-cost terms, but ultimately made their decision to close due to wider trading pressures – including rising staffing costs, utilities and business rates – which sadly continue to impact many retailers nationwide.”
The centre said they are investing in attracting new occupiers and supporting both national brands and independents.
