Anti-knife crime campaigner Pete Martin celebrates two years of his Redditch youth centre

REDDITCH anti-knife crime campaigner Pete Martin is celebrating the second anniversary of his youth centre.

Opened in 2024, the project, on Britten Street, has gone from strength to strength.

Schools have regular weekly slots at the centre, where they experience positive activities and anti-knife crime education.

The centre offers free family boxing sessions, self defence training and sessions for older people.

Pete’s award-winning referral system provides free support for young people in danger of being involved in crime, or those who have been a victim.

The centre is also the base for Pete’s drop-the-knife initiative, and there is a knife amnesty bin which has collected hundreds of weapons, including banned items.

Pete also organises life-saving bleed kit distribution from the site, to venues all over Redditch.

He said: “ I am blessed to have this opportunity to help people and I am really grateful to the people of Redditch who have supported me.”
