THE DOORS have opened at Alcester Town FC’s new £350,000 clubhouse.
The new-build extension, combined with a full refurbishment of the existing structure at the club’s Stratford Road ground, was completed over an eight-month period, transforming the site into a modern, multi-use venue for players, supporters and residents.
The clubhouse was officially opened on Saturday March 21 by Jim Kenyon, club president at Alcester Town FC, alongside representatives from the Alcester Court Leet.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by around 200 people, including players, families, volunteers and supporters from across the community.
The project has been made possible through a combination of sustained club fundraising, grant funding and generous contributions from local organisations and partners, including the Football Foundation, Tippers builders merchants, Howdens Kitchens, Alcester Town Council and a number of local businesses.
The upgraded facility includes a fully refurbished clubhouse space with bar and kitchen, new w/c facilities and a flexible event area with capacity for up to 200 people.
As well as enhancing the matchday experience, the space is designed to be used by the wider community for events and gatherings throughout the year.
Alcester Town FC currently supports 25 teams made up of over 400 players across its pathway, from early development age groups through to its first team, alongside veterans and walking football teams, making it one of the most active grassroots clubs in the region.
Steve McAdam, chairman of Alcester Town FC, said: “This is a huge moment for the football club and for the town. What’s been created here is more than just a clubhouse – it’s a facility that reflects the ambition of Alcester Town FC and the community behind it. Over the past four years, so many people have contributed their time, energy and support to make this happen, and the result is something we can all be incredibly proud of.
“These are facilities that allow us to grow, improve the experience for every player and supporter, and continue building a club that can genuinely compete and stand alongside the best in the region.”
