THE LATEST beer festival to be held at The Weighbridge in Alvechurch has been hailed a great success.

The event took place last Friday and Saturday, boasting 32 real ales from mostly local breweries, along with 18 ciders and perries and craft beers.

On the Friday night, crowds were entertained by the band Snap Crackle and Brit Pop and on the Saturday there was a host of family entertainment and a performance by the Alvechurch Morris Men and Aelfgythe women’s side.

Keith Gabriel, the lead singer of the band, said: “This was the first Weighbridge beer festival we’ve performed at – it was a great turn-out and really good fun.”

Snap Crackle and Brit Pop performed on the Friday.

The Weighbridge licensee Caroline Spreckley said: “We’re absolutely delighted with how successful this year’s Beer Festival has been.

“The atmosphere all weekend was fantastic, with people coming together to enjoy great local ales, live entertainment, and the real community spirit that makes Alvechurch so special.

“We’ve had incredible support from both our regulars and new visitors, and it’s been wonderful to see the pub so busy and full of life.

“A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, our team who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, and all the breweries and suppliers who helped make the festival such a success.”
