Alcester street given spruce up thanks to Redditch BID and council partnership

WORKING in partnership with Redditch Borough Council, Redditch Business Improvement District (BID) has planted flowers in the bays on Alcester Street, outside Threadneedle House.

The bays were filled with a carefully chosen mix of plants including rhododendrons, hydrangeas, camellias, foxgloves, Japanese anemones, geraniums and much more besides.

As well as the BID, local businesses Shipways, The Post Office, The Loft, and Lamberts all came out to get involved and help with the planting alongside Redditch Borough Council.

A spokesperson for Redditch BID said: “It was a brilliant example of businesses and the council rolling their sleeves up together for the good of the town.

“The council will be maintaining the bays going forward, keeping Alcester Street looking its best.

“Making Redditch town centre a place people genuinely want to spend time in is at the heart of what we do.

“The look and feel of our streets matters.

“First impressions matter.

“And when a town centre is well kept and welcoming, it benefits everyone – from the businesses trading here to the visitors coming in for the day.”
