REDDITCH Borough Council is on the hunt for a local hero with strong connections to the Greenlands and/or Woodrow areas.
In October 2025, the council was awarded up to £20million over 10 years from the UK Government as part of its Pride in Place programme.
The decisions on how the money is spent will be managed by a Neighbourhood Board made up of people who live and work in the area.
Working side-by-side with the community, they will create a shared vision for the future and use the funding to bring that vision to life.
Applications to lead the Neighbourhood Board are welcome from people who are passionate, community-minded and with close connections to the area.
Members do not need to have leadership experience as full support will be provided – enthusiasm is the main requirement.
Former Redditch Borough Council leader, Coun Sharon Harvey, said: “Putting local people at the heart of every decision that is made means we can be sure to make impactful change.
“That starts with finding the right person to guide the ship, as it were.
“If you are considering applying, I would say: ‘go for it’.
“With full support provided, this is a great chance to really shape the vision for your area.”
Applications for the lead role close on June 1.
