THE LATEST talk in Redditch History Society’s annual programme takes place this Monday, June 8, and focuses on the body found in Bromyard in 2021.
The speaker for this month is Emma Hancox, a Worcestershire County Archaeologist from ‘Explore the Past’, the Archive and Archaeology Service based in the Hive in Worcester.
Emma will discussed the story behind a human skeleton found buried within an embankment of the Worcester, Bromyard and Leominster Railway line, to the west of Worcester, in 2021.
Her talk focuses on how archaeologists work through a project of this nature, from initial discovery through to scientific analysis, dating and research, and to the eventual archiving and reburial .
The Redditch History Society meets from 2pm to 4pm on the second Monday of every month at Oasis Christian Centre on Plymouth Road.
Non-members are always welcome for a £4 admission fee and refreshments are available after the talk for just 50p per person.
Further details of the 2026 season can be found at: redditchhistorysociety.org.uk or on the leaflet available from Redditch Library and The Palace Theatre.
