A new 133,500 sq ft Grade A logistics development is set to create 150 new jobs. The Aurora Park scheme is a joint venture between real estate investor Hines and property developer Chancerygate.

The Development is Targeting EPC A and BREEAM Ratings

Construction has changed significantly over the years. Classic stories, like The Three Little Pigs, which came out in the 1840s, also shed light on the importance of choosing solid materials.

The brick house was considered the gold standard because it would withstand the wolf, and the tale has gone on to be a reference point for many over the years.

The Guardian once used The Three Little Pigs as the base for a humorous campaign, where the pigs used the wolf as a way to make an insurance claim. The best Huff N Even More Puff Grand slot also features the Three Little Pigs, with a construction lens. The title features hard hats, tape measures, and the iconic pigs themselves. Websites with a commercial lens like Altair LTD also give their take on the fairytale, but even with so many interpretations, the message is simple. The pig’s house withstood the test of time because quality materials were used, but today’s developers have so much more to think about than simply choosing durable materials.

When constructing new buildings, it’s also important to try to lower carbon emissions with a sustainable lens. That’s why developments like Aurora Park are constructed using the finest building materials, while meeting EPC A and BREEAM Excellent ratings.

About the Construction at Aurora Park

The construction at Aurora Park is going to consist of nine leasehold units that range in size. The smallest size is going to be roughly 7,685 sq ft, and the biggest will be 22,055 sq ft. The gross development value stands at around £35 million.

Work will begin around summer 2026, with everything set for completion by the third quarter of 2027. The units will be constructed using high-performance materials with dedicated yards as well as a fully fitted set of offices on the first floor.

To try to support the diversity and the longevity of the building, air source heat pumps will handle both heating and cooling, alongside electric vehicle charging ports. The building will also be equipped with roof-mounted solar panels, which will provide affordable energy to the building.

According to the developer, there is a clear demand in Redditch specifically for accommodation that can meet the growing needs of businesses in the area. The senior managing director of Hines has said that their partnership with Chancerygate has been going on now for eight years, and during that time, they have completed a lot of facilities in regions across the UK. So far, they have created over one million square feet of workspace and are looking to grow their pipeline with Redditch this year.

This is certainly an exciting development, and it just goes to show how much of a demand there is, not just for strong buildings, but sustainable ones too.
