REDDITCH is the third worst place in Britain to do a pub crawl, according to a former publican and social media influencer.
Dale Harvey, who runs the Great British Pub Crawl Facebook page, posted a video where he named the five worst places to do a pub crawl in the UK.
He was scathing in his criticism of Redditch, putting it in third place.
He said: “I bet some viewers are saying: ‘Where is Redditch?’
“It’s the bottom of the West Midlands, honestly, there’s nothing left, it was terrible.
“The best pub in Redditch was a Wetherspoons, and that probably tells you all you need to know.
“Don’t even bother going.”
Newquay was named as Dale’s worst pub crawl destination, while Corby, Skegness and Milton Keynes completed the top five.
The Great British Pub Crawl Facebook page currently boasts 228,000 followers.
It sees Dale and his wife, Holly, travel across the country to various towns and cities in a bid to promote as many British pubs as possible.
Paul Richards, chairman of Redditch, Bromsgrove and Droitwich CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale), said he felt the comments were unfair.
“Redditch licensees work hard to create events for their customers, along with unique atmospheres.
“There are venues if you want to watch sport, pubs for food, some which offer cask and real ale and some that put on live music – they cater for all tastes.”
He added it was also important to look outside the town centre as well to get a better overall picture of what Redditch’s pubs had to offer.
