Pedal power with purpose: Redditch team Oakland and friends raise thousands for Molly Ollys

AN EMOTIONAL welcome awaited a Redditch charity cycle team as they crossed the finish line of Molly Ollys three-day challenge, completing an incredible ride in support of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Part of a wider group of around 40 cyclists, the joint team from total supply chain solutions provider Oakland International and Attwell Farm Park took on the demanding multi-day challenge through soaring temperatures and tough conditions.

Over the three days, the riders covered 286km, starting with 104km from Porthmadog to Wrexham on day one, followed by a 120km stretch to Kidderminster on day two, before completing the final 62km to Shrewley, Warwickshire.

As they approached the finish line, they were welcomed by cheering family, friends and supporters in a moment filled with pride, emotion and celebration.

Luke Attwell, managing director at Green Clover Developments, said: “This was an incredible challenge, and the heat made it even tougher, but the support we received throughout the ride was fantastic.

“Knowing we were cycling to help children and families facing incredibly difficult times kept us going every mile. To complete the challenge together and see the support at the finish was a very special moment for all of us.”

Together, the team have already raised over £8,000, with donations still coming in. Across the wider event, the total raised has now surpassed £45,000, reflecting the generosity, determination and community spirit behind the challenge.

Dale Attwell, managing director of Attwell Farm Park, added: “At Attwell Farm Park, supporting families and our local community is at the heart of everything we do, so being part of this challenge was an easy decision.

“Every rider gave absolutely everything over the three days, and we couldn’t be prouder of what the team has achieved together. To see so many people come together to support Molly Ollys and help make a real difference to children and their families has been truly inspiring.”

Samuel Attwell added: “Every pound raised helps Molly Ollys continue its vital work supporting children and families when they need it most.

“We are incredibly proud to have played a part and very grateful to everyone who has donated, supported and encouraged us along the way.”

The fundraising page is still open, with people encouraged to visit justgiving.com/page/oakland to donate.
