Redditch Local History Museum issues rallying call for volunteers

REDDITCH Local History Museum has issued a rallying call for volunteers to ensure the venue stays open during the summer holidays.

The trustees said there were a range of roles available, including meeting and greeting visitors, selling retail products, explaining the exhibits and recording visitor memories.

The museum moved out of its home on Market Place after being served notice earlier this year.

Since the landlord asked them to leave they have been on the hunt for a new home. To date they have been unsuccessful, but the search continues.

The Kingfisher Centre has stepped in and is storing the rest of the artefacts, alongside the pop-up shop opposite TG Jones where volunteers will be based.

Redditch Local History Museum was founded in 2020 and aimed to show the achievements of the town and its residents.

It is run entirely by volunteers and relies on public donations, local business sponsorships and grants to fund its operation.
