SIMON Ibekwe delivered a stunning 28-second knockout as the Redditch heavyweight produced a devastating performance in the biggest fight of his career to date.

Ibekwe landed a one-punch knockout shot on opponent Daniel Baer just 28 seconds into the first round of the contest to triumph in sensational style in Pattaya, Thailand.

The Redditch heavyweight moves to 7-0 in the professional ranks after making a big step in quality to face German fighter Baer (15-2-1).

Ibekwe was fighting on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s bout against Mariusz Wach with the card filmed by Netflix as part of the ‘At Home with the Furys’ series.

And Ibekwe made the most of the opportunity as a huge overhand right floored Baer which left the German unable to continue just 28 seconds after the bell sounded.

Baer previously held the IBF European heavyweight title and has also fought for IBF and IBO international heavyweight belts.

The German went into the fight with 14 knockouts from 17 bouts and also had just one loss on his professional record.

However, Ibekwe wasted no time to extend his own unbeaten record with a statement victory in the biggest bout of his fledgling career.

Headliner Fury also triumphed in the main event after his opponent Wach retired at the end of the seventh round.

Fury will now likely meet British heavyweight foe Anthony Joshua later this year after both fighters won their comeback bouts.

Joshua survived two knockdowns to knockout opponent Kristian Prenga in the second round.
