FIREFIGHTERS across Worcestershire will be on stike over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A reduced service will operate on Friday (May 2) between 12pm and 5pm with further action from 2pm on Saturday (May 2) until 2am the following morning and between 10am and 3pm on Sunday (May 4).
The strikes have been organised by the Fire Brigades Union in relation to the Government’s proposed changes to firefighters’ pensions.
Firefighters will still respond to 999 calls but, because of a reduced service, residents are being urged to take extra steps to cut the risk of a blaze breaking out in their homes. They are also advised to check their smoke alarms.
