PUPILS at borough schools were encouraged to steps into the shoes of domestic abuse survivors.

As part of the annual White Ribbon Campaign’s 16 Days of Action, officers from Redditch Borough Council’s community safety team visited Trinity High School and RSA Academy Arrow Vale.

Students had the chance to take a ‘shoe selfie’ of specially-created shoe tiles and take part in the campaign by using the hashtag #shoeselfie on Twitter.

A spokesman said: “The idea of the tiles is to invite the public to put themselves in the shoes of victims and promote the campaign through social media.

“We are encouraging people to take photos and upload them to platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and share with their friends using #shoeselfie.

“The tile contains a QR code which if scanned will take people to the Worcestershire Forum Against Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence’s website where residents can access all the support materials and learn more about a variety of subjects.”
